Calling all Pediatricians!

MacKoul Pediatrics Fort Myers is looking to add another Pediatrician!

We recently added two new staff members, Brooke and Amado! They are a welcome addition and the children are loving them!

Now it’s time to expand and add another doctor, but it has to be the right fit!

If you are interested, please call the office at 239-415-1131 during office hours: Monday – Friday, from 8-5.

February Post

Hello to all our wonderful patients,

February is Black History Month. A great time to spend time with your children and look up so many great facts daily.

Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate!

Groundhog Day is tomorrow – again, another fun tradition to look up with your kids.

Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day are more opportunities to spend time with your children making projects and discussing history.

Despite what you hear on the news, we are still seeing a lot of coronavirus infections. Please talk to your children about how important simple things can keep them safe. Wearing a mask, washing their hands frequently, socially distancing – ideally 6 feet, staying home when sick, and getting vaccinated.

Flu season is also here! We still have plenty of flu shots, if you haven’t received yours yet!

Here in the office, we welcome Dr. Christine Philpott. She is working part-time and is quickly becoming a favorite doctor for our wonderful patients.

Please stay safe,
Annette St. Pierre-MacKoul, MD

Covid Vaccines in Our Children

Today, the guidelines for vaccinating our young adults ages 16+, includes the medically vulnerable patients. Here is the best link I could find. I am doing searches of our patients over 16 years old with medically vulnerable diagnoses. If you feel your child has one of these, call the office between 8-5, Monday – Friday, and we will fill out the form for your child / children.

We are registered to get the vaccine in the office, but have still not heard about when we will get the Covid vaccine in our office. The Pfizer Vaccine is for 16 and older. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson Vaccine is for 18 and older. With the form we will provide to you, you can register your child on the state registry. All the links are in this site:

Accepting donations for families in need … and helping those in need!

With such difficult times for many of us, the staff here at MacKoul Pediatrics Fort Myers was brainstorming on how to help our patients and others. We are opening a pantry for anyone who needs it. We are also accepting donations from those who might be able to give items.

Kait is organizing this effort in the office. The phone number is 239-415-1131.

We have infant and toddler formula, diaper rash creams, creams for dry skin, laundry detergent, and some other items as well. Small supply of over the counter medicines.

Covid Safety Update and Information:

As of today, December 29, 2020, every member of our patient care team has received their first dose of the Coronavirus Vaccine. We felt it important to receive the vaccine to keep you, our patients and patient’s families, as safe as possible from Coronavirus.

I was very proud that each and every member of our team felt it was vitally important for our community and our patients, to get this vaccine to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

It is very important to remember that in getting this vaccine, we still need to be diligent in regard to wearing masks, socially distancing, avoiding groups greater than 10, washing our hands frequently, and staying home as much as possible.

Thank you,
Annette St. Pierre-MacKoul, MD

Covid thoughts:

Today was a very special day for me! I did my part to help fight this virus! I got my first dose of the Coronavirus Vaccine. With an average of 66 cases per 100,000 people over the last 7 days, something more has to happen. We all need to do our part to stop the spread!
Avoid travel and gatherings!
Wear a mask!
Stay 6 feet away from others!
Wash your hands!
When able, get your vaccine!
This is a time to think of the greater good – trust the science, care for others and do the right thing.

Coronavirus and lots of changes:

We do both rapid and send out Covid-19 testing in the office! Actually outside of the office! We can do car visits or visits outside of the back door of our 8530 Granite Court office.

I am doing my best to pre-screen patients and keep the virus completely out of the building for added assurance and safety to our other patients and staff.

We have the combined flu and covid rapid test, this way you only need one nasal swab! Your child will appreciate that!

We are following all of the CDC Guidelines and actually, taking them to the next level. Your visits here are completely safe. Please do not skip your child’s regular well exams or sick visits.

Halloween in a Pandemic:

I did not get a chance to complete my advice. This is a time for you and your family to get creative and make new traditions! Model flexibility and a positive attitude, try to be excited and make it fun. This is a time to stress the importance of keeping everyone safe. Lastly, if you have been exposed to Coronavirus or you are sick, do not participate in Halloween activities:
