Youth Heart Screening
Attention all young athletes. Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death among young athletes and often provides no advance signs or symptoms. Electrocardiogram (EKG) is a tool that may detect a child’s risk for sudden cardiac arrest.
To provide peace of mind to young athletes and their families, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida offers free EKG testing to middle and high school-aged athletes.
The free EKGs are available without an appointment during these times and at these locations:
Outpatient Center at HealthPark Commons
16281 Bass Road
Fort Myers, FL 33908
7:30 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday
Outpatient Center at the Sanctuary
8960 Colonial Center Drive
Fort Myers, FL 33905
7:30 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday
Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cardiologists Eric Eason, D.O., and Suying Lam, M.D., will review the EKGs and, if necessary, will provide recommendations for further evaluation.
